Lackenhof am Ötscher, an old woodsmen’s village is one of the most popular ski resorts in the county in winter and a hikers’ paradise in summer. Lackenhof (810m) lies at the bottom of the 1893m high Ötscher Mountain in the region of Mostviertel in Lower Austria. Our hotel is in the centre of Lackenhof only in 200m distance from the ski lift. We wait our guests with friendly atmosphered non-smoking rooms, saunas and a nice restaurant. We have single, double and three-bedded rooms with the possibility of a further extra bed;and there is a television in each room. Lackenhof is one the most popular ski resorts. A good opportunity of skiing offers itself on the slopes (19km in total length) with 100 percent guarantee of snow and a friendly atmosphere. This ski area of Ötscher is the most suitable for families. The peak season is from the end of November until the beginning of April; the slopes are well-maintained and kept in great condition with regular use of snow guns. With the new four-seat chairlift the Low Ötscher (1560m) is also available. On the way to the mountain station blue, red and black labelled slopes can be found. The difficulty level of the upper pistes is black and red, therefore it is only recommended for advanced skiers. Since, the difficulty level of the lower pistes are blue beginners can practice and families can ski together here. The smallest ones are most welcomed in Sunny Kids Park with a flying carpet, cheerful ski school and baby-sitting possibility. Beside skiing there is a great opportunity of snowboarding for its fans even practising free-style jumping. A 17km long track awaits ski runners and nature lovers can enjoy the fabulous landscape and can hike in the mountains as well. The most spectacular program of the year is the ’Ballons’night’ which is held on 15th January 2012, this season.
